VP Alupo Represents Uganda at African Union Summit in Ethiopia

ADDIS ABABA – Vice President Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to represent President Yoweri Museveni at the Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council and the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

Upon her arrival on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Bole International Airport, Alupo was warmly received by H.E. Dr. Ergoge Tesfaye, the Minister for Women and Social Affairs of Ethiopia, along with Gen. Jeje Odongo, Uganda’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Rebecca Otengo, Uganda’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, and other dignitaries.




Alupo is scheduled to attend the 44th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council (Ministerial Session) and the 37th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly (Heads of State and Government Session).




The summit’s theme revolves around “Educating an African fit for the 21st Century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa.”
