A section of NRM loyalists has labeled the deportation of Ambassador Joy Ruth Aceng from Canada as linked to her outspoken stance against homosexuality.

Ambassador Joy Aceng has been in Canada for eight years, promoting “Buy Uganda Build Uganda” (BUBU) and marketing the NRM government while exposing opposition lies, especially those of NUP, in the diaspora.

As a dedicated leader, Ambassador Joy Ruth Aceng carried Uganda’s flag and protected her country’s interests with utmost commitment. According to Aciri Jane of Kole Town Council, Ambassador Joy never tolerated intimidation and never betrayed her home country, Uganda, abroad in any way.

John Okello, a 67-year-old resident of Okwerodot in Kole District, described her as a very honest and courageous leader who stood for human rights both abroad and in Uganda.

A district councilor representing a sub-county in Amolatar District added that Ambassador Joy Ruth Aceng is a true leader devoted to the people of Lango and Uganda at large. Her leadership skills speak for themselves. Therefore, we request President Museveni to redeploy her somewhere in Africa for her safety from those opposing the homosexuality bill.

He suspects that NUP did its best to undermine their daughter from Canada, but with God’s grace, she continues to serve her country. In a related development, an 81-year-old elder in Lira District accused Canadians of being discriminatory and thanked H.E. the President of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Museveni, for appointing their daughter. He urged the President to independently decide on her redeployment as far as cadre positions are concerned.
