Why Bukedea District Could Soon Face a By-election for Woman Representative

I want to thank the CEC and Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for the bold decision taken in endorsing the Speaker and Deputy Speaker for the 12th Parliament. Truly, a few Ugandans may feel hurt by this decision, but the majority of Ugandans have welcomed it.

It should be noted that the Central Executive Committee of the NRM has fronted Hon. Jacob Oboth-Oboth as a candidate for the Speakership, while Hon. Norbert Mao has been endorsed as his deputy.

To confirm this, our supreme leader and the only saviour for the young Ugandan generation, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, stated on his Twitter account: “He has been our best minister for five years in our government. I should be the first to endorse him for the Speakership for 2026 to 2031. God bless you, Hon. Oboth-Oboth.”

General Muhoozi, Ugandans now like you so much because you are a straightforward man who does not backbite people, but instead tells them the truth point-blank.

When you announced your decision withdrawing endorsement of the Speakership for Rt Hon Anita Among and her deputy, Ugandans thought you were joking, but some of us who know you very well understand that you do not repeat your words, and that is the kind of leadership Ugandans are yearning for.

Now this is the beginning of the downfall of my sister, Rt Hon Anita Among. You may take it in bad faith because I have told you the truth, and I have to speak frankly because all those surrounding you will not tell you. Whenever I write something, people rush to say I am against my sister Among, but that is not the case. The people surrounding Hon. Among should instead be blamed for her downfall.

These people around her have blocked all access for people of goodwill to reach Hon. Anita. Even in the Teso region, Hon. Anita has few friends because she was made to believe that everyone hates her, which is not true. Otherwise, Hon. Anita would not be facing this situation if she had good advisers. Even the media team around her has never wished her well.

As we speak right now, whoever disputes this will ask me later. There is going to be a by-election for the Woman Member of Parliament for Bukedea District in a short time to come.

Already, 14 lawyers from different highly respected firms have been tasked to look into the circumstances under which the names of women who were vying to contest against Hon. Anita disappeared from the Electoral Commission register.

All this should have been brought to her attention by the media team surrounding her, but because they are also fighting for their own survival, they cannot tell Hon. Anita the truth.

I want to advise my sister Anita that wherever you are right now, be ready to face a by-election for your position.
