LIRA, Uganda – Several voters in Lira City West Division are calling for the re-election of the incumbent MP, Hon. Vincent Shedrick Obong Eyit, in the upcoming 2026 general election.
Nancy Awio, a former councilor from Kakoge ‘C’ Cell in Kakoge Ward, praised MP Obong Eyit for his significant contributions, particularly the recent rehabilitation of Hamilton Road.
She expressed her appreciation and urged him to continue lobbying for maternal health kits, as many pregnant women in the area cannot afford them.
Okino Jerom, a Boda Boda rider from Lira City West Division, also congratulated the MP for using his own resources to repair and rehabilitate the road.
Reagan Ongom, the LC1 of Kakoge ‘C’ Cell, was pleasantly surprised to see a grader in his area. He expressed his happiness about Obong Eyit’s efforts, stating that as a member of UPC, he couldn’t hide his joy over the improvements in transportation.
Mr. Emmanuel Mary Egwel, a 77-year-old former catechist from Kakoge Ward who previously fell due to the poor road conditions, urged voters to wisely choose Hon. Vincent Shedrick Eyit. He emphasized that Eyit is a dedicated leader who genuinely cares for his constituents.
Emmanuel noted that the trend in parliamentary leadership is shifting from mere debates to tangible work that benefits the community.
Hon. Ogwal Mike, a councilor representing Kakoge Ward in Lira City West Division, has rallied voters to remember outstanding leaders like MP Obong Eyit during the 2026 elections, highlighting their significant contributions and support for the community.
MP Obong Vincent Shedrick Eyit has rehabilitated several roads within Lira City West Division and is currently lobbying for electricity power lines in areas of Omito Ward. Given these efforts, many residents are advocating for his unopposed re-election to the 12th Parliament.
