Kabale District – Hon. Mastsiko Gilbert Bigwera, an aspirant for the Ndorwa West Parliamentary seat, has expressed deep concern over the poor state of roads in the constituency.
He made the remarks during his campaign launch held at Kyitoma Playground in Kyitoma Parish, Rubaya Sub-county, Ndorwa West, Kabale District, where hundreds of supporters gathered to hear his development agenda.
Hon. Bigwera decried the persistent poor road network despite the area being represented by a minister, saying the community continues to suffer due to neglect and underdevelopment.
He pledged that once elected, he would prioritize healthcare, education, and infrastructure development to improve the welfare of the people of Ndorwa West.
Bigwera also outlined his plan to introduce apiculture (bee-keeping) in the constituency, explaining that honey production could serve as both a source of income and natural medicine for residents of Ndorwa West and Kabale District at large.
He noted that Uganda continues to face challenges related to low household income, but with the adoption of apiculture, families could generate steady monthly income, helping to reduce poverty and dependence.
On the political front, Hon. Bigwera expressed confidence in winning the upcoming election, saying he would capitalize on infighting among NRM party leaders in the district.
He claimed that Hon. David Bahati, the State Minister for Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives and Kabale District NRM chairperson, is currently embroiled in a dispute with Counsel Eliab Naturinda Mporera, after losing the party primaries but deciding to run as an independent candidate.
Bigwera accused the two leaders of focusing on personal conflicts rather than the needs of the people, urging voters not to be distracted by their disagreements.
“Our people deserve better. Let’s stop paying attention to political fights and focus on electing leaders who will serve the community,” Bigwera told the crowd.
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to development, transparency, and service delivery in Ndorwa West.
