KAMPALA – FUFA President Hon. Moses Magogo has come out strongly to defend Camp Paradise Hotel in Kisasi, the official residence of the Uganda Cranes during the CHAN 2024 tournament, after the facility drew criticism from sections of the public.

Over recent weeks, fans and commentators on social media have questioned the suitability of the hotel, citing its state and location. Some publications have described it as unfit for hosting a national team, sparking debate over whether the Cranes deserve better accommodation.

Magogo, however, dismissed the concerns as exaggerated and in some cases misleading.

“It is true that as a Federation, we have seen some of this feedback from the public. But I want to inform the general public that some of the publications being made are false,” he said.

He explained that Camp Paradise is not a general hotel but a specialised facility designed for football needs.

“A football hotel is customised. It is not a general hotel where you want and whatever you want. This exclusivity gives us a way of preparing our own food our own way. The hotel has its own gym also custom-made for football,” Magogo noted.

The FUFA boss also revealed ongoing upgrades to the facility, including an outdoor training arena and a pitch equipped for night sessions.

“As we speak right now, this facility is developing the outdoor arena. And if you look through the windows, there’s a pitch being developed so that this hotel can even host night training,” he explained.

Magogo further stressed that the **Confederation of African Football (CAF)** had already inspected and approved Camp Paradise for CHAN, making it fully compliant with competition standards.

“According to the standards of the competition, who is more authoritative? Is it you, the competitor, or CAF?” he posed.

With CAF’s green light and FUFA’s firm backing, Magogo believes the Cranes have the right environment to focus on performance, despite lingering criticism from outside.
