Mukono Diocese, a religious administrative region in Uganda, recently witnessed a series of leadership changes within its clergy. The alterations were disclosed during the 63rd diocesan council convened at Bp. Ssebaggala Synod Hall, the diocese’s headquarters. Bishop Enos Kitto Kagodo, the spiritual leader of Mukono Diocese, revealed these modifications during the council, emphasizing that they were intended to enhance the well-being of the diocese and should be regarded as routine adjustments.

This announcement marked the second diocesan council presided over by Bishop Kagodo since his enthronement as the fifth bishop of Mukono Diocese, succeeding Bishop James William Ssebaggala on February 25, 2023. Furthermore, Bishop Kagodo hinted at the possibility of additional changes being implemented before the year’s end.

Several key changes were made, including the appointment of Rev. Seth Musoke, the assistant Vicar of Seeta parish, as the new diocesan education secretary, replacing Rev. Canon Geoffrey Kagoye. Rev. Kagoye was subsequently transferred to St. Dunstan parish in Nassuuti Archdeaconry.

The reorganization extended to archdeacons, with Rev. Canon Edward Kironde Balamaze being transferred from Lugazi to Seeta, while Canon David Mpagi was moved from Seeta to Lugazi. Moreover, Rev. Canon Robert Kiwanuka Mulinde of Mpumu Archdeaconry was reassigned to Nakibizzi, with his position at Mpumu Archdeaconry filled by Rev. Christopher Kezaala.

The clergy reassignments were not limited to archdeacons; they also involved parish priests and other positions within the diocese’s administration. These changes are tabulated below:
