Masindi Step-Mom Arrested for Alleged Poisoning Deaths of Two Young Siblings

The Territorial Police in Albertine and Masindi CPS have taken into custody a stepmother named Komuhendo Harriet. She is accused of the alleged poisoning, which resulted in the tragic deaths of her two stepchildren, aged 8 and 6, as well as the attempted murder by poisoning of a surviving 2 year-old victim. The incident occurred on the 26th of October, 2023, at Kihaguzi “B” village in Labongo sub-county, Masindi district.

The suspect is believed to have given the three siblings food laced with a suspected poison, which led to their sudden loss of consciousness. They were swiftly transported to Masindi General Hospital for immediate medical attention. Tragically, two of the victims, Katusiime Patience, an 8 year-old female juvenile, and Asobora James, a 5 year old male juvenile, lost their lives. The third victim, Kyosaba Mary, aged 3 years, is currently receiving treatment at Masindi Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.




The suspect now faces serious charges related to these tragic events. She is being charged with two counts of murder for the alleged poisoning of the 8 year-old and 5 year old siblings, and one count of attempted murder for the poisoning of the 2 year-old survivor.
