A 30-year old woman is in police custody over an alleged murder in Gulu City, . Scovia Atim, a resident of Forest Cell, Laroo-Pece Division, reportedly stabbed 18-year-old Phillip Obalim to death on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at approximately 1:30 pm.
As per David Mudong Ongom, the Aswa West Police region spokesperson, the suspect was selling cassava chips by the roadside when the deceased and his unidentified colleagues reportedly attacked her. In an act of self-defense, the suspect allegedly stabbed Phillip Obalim, resulting in his death.
All relevant witnesses have provided statements, and the deceased’s body has been transported to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital Morgue for a postmortem examination. The case has been registered at Gulu Central Police Station under SD REF: 02/31/12/2023.
