Mayuge District Senior Records Officer Brenda Nabwire is facing a six-month interdiction and arrest ordered by the deputy Inspector General of Government (IGG), Anne Muhairwe. The decision follows allegations of Nabwire “frustrating” service delivery in the district by manipulating documents.

Deputy IGG Muhairwe, on a two-day service delivery inspection, expressed concern that Nabwire’s actions led to people suffering, affecting payroll entries, transfers, and file accessibility. Muhairwe noted instances where individuals missed salaries or faced payroll issues due to Nabwire’s alleged interference.

The arrest serves as a stern example to others failing to meet expected standards, according to Muhairwe. She highlighted instances of missing evidence during the inspection, prompting the decision to interdict and arrest Nabwire.

Mayuge District LC5 Chairperson Bishop Frank Tibagendeka supported Nabwire’s arrest, stating that the issue of “information getting lost” has been a persistent concern. He emphasized the need for addressing such challenges and called for the promotion of exceptional civil servants.
