Obongi Police arrested Mac Business World contractor over shoddy work

The authorities in Obongi district have arrested the director of Mac Business World, a local contractor, over shoddy work on the roofing of the doctor’s house at Itula Health Center 3. The director, Mr. Vuciri, allegedly deviated from the specifications outlined in the bills of quantities (BOQ).

Mr. Vuciri is accused of using timber instead of steel, as indicated in the BOQ. Additionally, he has been arrested for opting for bricks instead of the specified blocks for the construction.

The project, valued at over 250 million shillings, involves the construction of a three-bedroom house. The completion deadline was set for August of the previous year, but as of now, the roofing remains unfinished.

The arrest operation was initiated earlier this week, commanded by DPC Obongi SP Graciano Nkurunziza and supervised by RDC Obongi Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka and DISO Daniel Elyebu.

The police obtained a copy of the BOQ at the construction site, which clearly outlined the use of steel instead of timber and blocks instead of bricks. These deviations from the specified materials prompted the arrest of Mr. Vuciri.
