Former Bushenyi MP Candidate Arrested for Alleged Aggravated Defilement of Maid

Kenneth Akanduhuura is accused of defiling his 15-year-old house girl and later procuring an abortion after she got pregnant.

The Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) has arrested a former Parliamentary seat aspirant in Bushenyi district over allegations of aggravated defilement.

Kenneth Akanduhuura is accused of defiling his 15 year-old house girl and later procuring an abortion after she got pregnant.




The suspect was arrested after the girl’s sad story was aired on TV West.




The girl’s relatives said the suspect had defiled the minor in Bushenyi and aided an abortion and thereafter abandoned her to her fate. The victim reportedly developed complications after the abortion and was subsequently forced to use pampers to control the bleeding.




Youth and Children Affairs state minister Balaam Barugahara extended his gratitude to the head of the CID, Maj. Tom Magambo for arresting Akanduhuura who aspired for the Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality MP seat.

“Thank you Magambo and your directorate for arresting Akanduhuura who is alleged to have defiled a 15-year-old girl in Bushenyi and aided an abortion and thereafter abandoned her to rot. Let justice prevail and we must all say no to defilement and forced early childhood marriages in our communities,” Barugahara said.




A case of aggravated defilement and aiding abortion, SD Reference 23/12/04/2024 was opened at Bushenyi Police Station on April 12, 2024.

According to the victim, the suspect allegedly forced her door open and forcibly had sex with her while clasping her mouth several times and threatened her not to report the matter.
