The Commander of the Special Forces Command, Major General David Mugisha, has expressed appreciation for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s commitment to enhancing the training of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF). President Museveni, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the UPDF, has made training a top priority to transform the UPDF into a professional and modern military force.
Major General Mugisha emphasized the President’s dedication to transforming the UPDF from an unorganized group into a modern, efficient, technologically advanced, and people-focused force. This transformation has been possible due to President Museveni’s focus on establishing UPDF training schools.
Major General Mugisha made these remarks while representing the Chief of Defence Forces at the School of Defence Intelligence and Security in Migyera, Nakasongola. The occasion was the passing-out parade for officers and soldiers who had completed the Special Investigations Bureau Course. He advised them to be mindful of the challenges they will face in the field and warned them against engaging in corruption, favoritism, and discrimination while performing their duties.
