According to Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, Mucunguzi, a resident of Kyarutakoba Village, Katara Parish, Kichwamba Sub-county, fell ill on June 2nd, 2024, at around 2:00 AM while at Dr. Isaac’s Clinic in Katara II Village.

Mucunguzi had reportedly been transporting matooke by motorcycle to Ahamuku Landing Site on June 1st and did not return home until 4:00 PM. After eating supper, he complained to his wife about breathing difficulties and requested a mat to rest in the living room for better air.
