Controversy Erupts Over Teen’s Death at Hands of UWA Rangers

A 16-year-old boy was allegedly shot dead by Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) rangers in Bukwo district on Tuesday evening.

The boy, identified as Kipsang Markos, was a resident of Kapkoros parish, Suam Sub-County, Bukwo district.




According to reports, Kipsang left his home on Tuesday afternoon to cut grass for the animals. However, he did not return, prompting his parents and area residents to launch a search.




Unfortunately, the boy’s lifeless body was found in the forest, shot in the head.




It is alleged that UWA rangers are responsible for the shooting of the boy.

Following the incident, residents demanded justice for the boy. However, the police intervened and calmed the situation.

The body was taken to Bukwo General Hospital pending a postmortem examination.




The police have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances under which the boy was killed.
