Four Arrested for Gang Rape and Assault in Aboke Town Council


Four men have been arrested by the Territorial Police in North Kyoga Region and Kole CPS for the alleged gang rape of a 17-year-old girl and assault of her two male friends.




The Incident




The incident happened early on June 9th, 2024, at around 3 am in Ocokan cell, Akwirididi Ward, Aboke Town Council. The victim was leaving a disco with her two friends who were walking her home. They were attacked by a group of men who beat the two boys and chased them away. The attackers then took the girl to a house belonging to a man named Okot and gang-raped her.




The Arrest

The police and the LCI Chairperson were alerted by one of the victim’s friends and quickly responded. They surrounded the house and arrested four suspects: Okello Martin (23), Kibwota Bernard (25), Otiang Patrick (23), and Nam Aron (20).

The Investigation




The victim received medical treatment at Aboke Hospital. The police are searching for Okot, the owner of the house, and any other possible accomplices. The investigation will include DNA testing and other forensic evidence.

Police Commitment

The police spokesperson, SCP Enanga Fred, stated that the police are committed to investigating all incidents of sexual violence against young girls and ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
