A concerning new trend of crime has emerged in Masindi town, characterized by attacks from criminals armed with iron bars and stones. This alarming wave of violence has left residents in fear as these perpetrators target unsuspecting victims.

According to Sanon Dhaala, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Masindi, the crime spree has intensified recently. In a statement to Vision Group’s Kabalega FM, Dhaala detailed the tactics used by these criminals. They are reportedly assaulting their victims with metal bars and stones before stealing their belongings.

The local security agencies have launched operations in response to this surge in crime. These efforts have led to several arrests, and some of the suspects have already faced legal proceedings in court. Despite these actions, the situation remains a significant concern for the community.

Dhaala expressed appreciation for the community’s support in assisting the security forces with their efforts. He urged residents to maintain their vigilance and continued cooperation to address this troubling issue effectively.

In addition, Dhaala advised parents to keep their children from attending night events past 6:00pm. This measure is aimed at reducing their exposure to potential danger during the night.
