(Wakiso) – On August 31, 2024, police in Old Kampala were called to investigate a murder that took place in Kawaala Central, Kasubi. The victim, identified as Muyanja Julius, a boda boda rider, was found dead in his home after being killed the previous night.
The police acted quickly, bringing in a police dog to assist in the investigation. The canine unit proved instrumental in the case, as the police dog successfully tracked down the suspect, Ssemulyaba Tonny, who is the brother of the deceased.
Following the lead provided by the dog, the police conducted a search of Ssemulyaba’s residence. During this search, investigators discovered bloodstains and a hammer, both of which were stained with blood. This evidence raised significant suspicion about Ssemulyaba’s involvement in his brother’s death.
Given the evidence, Ssemulyaba was detained on suspicion of murder. The police are continuing their investigation to gather more information and confirm the details surrounding this tragic event.
This incident has shocked the local community, as it involved a family member allegedly taking the life of his own brother. A statement by the police portal said the authorities are determined to uncover the truth and ensure justice is served in this case.
