Mayiga Calls for Technological Advancements in Agriculture in Buganda

Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikkiro of Buganda, has encouraged farmers to work together for better livelihoods and stressed the importance of technological advancements in agriculture.

(Kampala) – Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikkiro (Prime Minister) of the Kingdom of Buganda, recently addressed the Kabula Coffee Farmers Association, expressing the importance of collaboration among farmers for improving their livelihoods. He emphasized that those facing hardship must work hard and seek the strength to change their situations.

Mayiga spoke to farmers on land owned by Mr. Albert Muganga in Buyanja village, urging them to work diligently and with commitment. He recognized the impact of cooperative associations in transforming lives and communities. He thanked Mr. Lazalous Kinywawacunda, who returned from the United States to engage in coffee farming after hearing about the Emmwanyi Terimba initiative across various media platforms.




He encouraged the farmers not to give up, stating that collective efforts are essential for development. Mayiga indicated that he plans to establish a CBS PEWOSA forum in Lyantonde to further support local farmers. He stressed the importance of individual accountability and responsibility in farming, urging farmers to take pride in their work and contribute positively to their communities.




Mayiga also met with staff from CBS FM, urging them to work effectively and utilize technology to spread accurate information about the Buganda Kingdom. He emphasized that this era should focus on improving the royal radio station’s services and maintaining the integrity of the Kabaka’s message. He concluded by wishing them success in their endeavors.
