The Uganda Police has announced how they are investigating a 40 year old man identified as Waggama Yusuf for defiling his step daughter who is a minor. The case was reported by a one Ninsiima Sharone the Minor’s mother.
According to a Police statement, Waggama is a traditional healer who perpetrated this case of aggravated defilement. He’s said to have abused his position of trust as he instructed his wife to stay the night in the shrine which left him alone in the house with the victim.
It’s reported that he then resorted to have intercourse with this minor multiple times without her consent. Ninsiima later observed her daughter’s weakness which prompted her to ask the matter and she opened up. This led to a series of routine checkups which revealed that this young girl is pregnant. Investigations into the matter are now ongoing.
“Police in Entebbe are investigating a case of aggravated defilement involving a minor. The victim’s mother, Ninsiima Sharone, reported the incident, which allegedly occurred at the hands of her husband, Waggama Yusuf, a 40-year-old traditional healer and the victim’s stepfather.
We have since established that, Waggama Yusuf exploited his position of trust, telling his wife to sleep in the shrine, leaving him alone with the victim.
He then allegedly performed a sexual act with the victim without her consent on multiple occasions. The second instance occurred after Waggama Yusuf tried to fight his wife, causing her to flee.
The victim’s mother eventually noticed her weakness and inquired about her condition, leading to a medical checkup that revealed the victim was pregnant.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing,” a Police statement read.
These cases are not a new thing to the public ear with the most recent case being the one between Hajjat Zuula and her husband a one Hajji. The two were married for quite sometime before falling out which prompted Hajjati Zuula to accuse him of raping her daughter multiple times.
The case became mainstream and the accused was incarcerated for a couple of months before being released on bail after much public debate.
