(Tororo) – Police in Tororo District are investigating the tragic murder of a 28 year old mother, Awori Immaculate, who was found dead at Panorama Cottages Guest House in Tororo Municipality. The incident, which occurred between January 3 and 4, 2025, has also uncovered a disturbing case of child theft.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Awori Immaculate and her one-month-old baby, Andera Jane, were lured from Paya Village by two women claiming to represent a non-governmental organization (NGO) supporting mothers and infants. The suspects, identified as Nanozi Eseza, also known as Nalunga Pretty, and Awori Beatrice, allegedly booked a room at the guest house, where they committed the crime. They murdered Awori and abducted her baby.

The shocking discovery came when a lodge attendant at Panorama Cottages noticed Awori’s lifeless body and alerted the authorities. Police swiftly launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of both suspects and the recovery of the baby. The child, Andera Jane, was reported to be safe and in police care.

Law enforcement is continuing to gather evidence to prosecute the suspects. Speaking about the case, police emphasized their commitment to ensuring justice for the victim and her family while urging the public to remain vigilant against scams and fraud targeting vulnerable individuals.
