One Dead, One Injured in Motorcycle Crash in Oyam District

A road accident occurred yesterday morning around 8 a.m. at Abok trading center, Abok sub-county, Oyam district, resulting in one fatality.

The victim, Bua Richard, age 35, was a resident of Acut A village, Ngai sub-county. Reports indicate he was riding a motorcycle to Bario market. The motorcycle’s registration number was not available at the time of reporting.




An eyewitness told The AnkoleTimes that the deceased was riding his motorcycle when a snake crossed the road. In an attempt to avoid the snake, he swerved and collided head-on with another oncoming motorcycle.




He died instantly upon arrival at Ariba Health Center III. Paul Ociti, a relative of the deceased, stated that Bua died from head injuries, according to medical reports.




The other motorcyclist, whose name was not obtained, is in critical condition at Anyeke Health Center IV, Oyam town council.

A police officer attached to Abok police station, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the accident and stated that investigations are ongoing.
