Police in Alebtong Investigate Seven Suspected Robbers Who Stole Motorcycle from Boda Boda Rider in Aloi

Alebtong District – The territorial police in Alebtong district, North Kyoga Region, are investigating an alleged aggravated robbery that took place on February 21st at Corner Aloi, Aloi Town Council, at approximately 6:10 AM in Alebtong district.

According to the Police Spokesperson of North Kyoga Region, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the incident occurred on February 21, 2025, when Mr. Ocaro Denis, a boda-boda rider, was transporting Mr. Abuton Fred, a teacher at Aloi Secondary School, on a red Bajaj motorcycle with registration number UFW 030V.




On their way from Bar Sub-county, when they reached Corner Aloi near the forest, they were ambushed by seven young men who used a nylon rope to block the road, causing the rider to lose control. The seven men then stole the motorcycle and a smartphone from the boda-boda rider and the teacher.




Ropes and bamboo sticks, suspected to have been used to assault the two victims, were recovered from the crime scene.




Efforts to apprehend the suspects by police in Alebtong district are ongoing.

SP Jimmy Patrick Okema requested members of the public to share any information with the police that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.

Okema advised the youth to embrace government programs such as YLP, Emyooga, and the PDM programs to pursue their interests and benefit from these initiatives instead of engaging in criminal activities.
