Residents in western Uganda, particularly in Kitagwenda District, are in disbelief after a well-known gospel singer in the region was reportedly involved in the decapitation of his niece for ritualistic reasons. The singer, whose real name is Amanyire Kutunga Levi and is popularly known as DJ Levi Nyamagoya, is accused of sacrificing his four-year-old niece, Ainomugisha Trinity.
Sources close to the situation revealed that the girl’s father had sent her to deliver money. However, while crossing the road, she was seen talking to her uncle, Levi. Other accounts suggest that DJ Levi instructed his own child to summon Trinity to his home, which she did.
Witnesses reported that Levi’s child admitted to the police that his father had sent her to fetch her cousin, after which he took her to his banana plantation, where he allegedly beheaded her and disposed of the severed body on his farm, leading to its discovery. When Trinity’s parents realized she was missing, they raised a community alarm, prompting a search that ultimately uncovered her corpse.
DJ Levi was quickly arrested as the primary suspect and placed in custody. Locals expressed their outrage by attacking the properties owned by the accused, including his cows and banana plantations, which they destroyed. This incident was not the first time the famous singer had been associated with such horrific acts; another child reportedly went missing under mysterious circumstances seven months prior and has yet to be found.
It is said that DJ Levi possessed a room in his opulent home that was off-limits to anyone but him. Following his arrest, police gained entry into the room and discovered a blood-filled bucket, the victim’s clothing, and other items related to satanic rituals.
This individual was considered very affluent, owning several schools in western Uganda. However, following this incident, parents swiftly withdrew their children from these schools. Many people are in shock, as DJ Levi was known for his uplifting religious songs and was cherished as a public figure.
Many individuals turned to the social media platform TikTok to share their disappointment and grief over his actions. At this point, he remains a suspect, although a significant amount of evidence suggests he is the perpetrator.
It’s important to note that child abduction for sacrificial rituals was a prevalent issue in Uganda a few years ago. However, the occurrence of this crime has drastically decreased following intensified efforts by law enforcement agencies to track down those responsible, who would face severe penalties.
