Residents of Nakiwogo/Lugonjo Zone in Entebbe Division ‘B’ were left in deep shock and grief after a well-known couple was brutally murdered at their home on the night of July 6, 2025.

The victims, identified as David Mutaga and his wife Florence Mutaga, were found stabbed to death at their residence located on Plot 17, Research Road. The horrific incident happened at around 9:30 PM, shortly after the couple had hosted a small family get-together at their home.

According to sources, only a few people had been invited to the gathering, making the incident even more suspicious. Intelligence teams who visited the scene revealed that there was no sign of forced entry, suggesting that the attackers might have been among the invited guests.

Apparently this couple had been residing in Germany for the last 30 years and had reportedly returned to settle in Uganda permanently.

Authorities believe the killers could have hidden somewhere near the house and struck after the rest of the guests had left.

Officers from Entebbe Police and the Internal Security Office arrived at the scene shortly after the alarm was raised. The bodies of the deceased were later taken to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the killings. Investigations are ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward to help bring those responsible to justice.

The tragic event has left the community in mourning, with many still struggling to come to terms with the brutal murder of the couple, who were known to be friendly and peaceful.
