Police have announced a Shs50 million cash reward for anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of a couple in Entebbe earlier this month.

David Mutaaga, 69, and his wife, Deborah Florence Mutaaga, 62, were found brutally killed in the early hours of July 6 at their residence in Lugonjo-Nakiwogo Cell, Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District.

According to preliminary investigations, unknown assailants attacked the couple inside their home. Police revealed a chilling voice recording on Monday, believed to be from the main suspect, in which the man can be heard calling out to Mr. Mutaaga during the crime.

Mutaaga, come save your wife,” the voice says.

Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke confirmed that the individual behind the recording is being sought to aid the ongoing investigation.

“The moment you lead us to the suspect or deliver him, Shs50 million in cash awaits you. Everyone is urged to join in the manhunt,” Rusoke said.

The public is encouraged to report any leads discreetly by calling the police emergency line: 0769 675 918.

“All security agencies are fully engaged in ensuring the suspect is brought to justice,” Rusoke added.

The Crime Scene

According to investigators, the couple had only recently returned from Europe, where they had lived for several years.

Their bodies were discovered by their shamba boy, Ronald Golooba, who reported a suspected case of aggravated robbery. Upon arrival, police found both victims dead inside the house. The female victim was partially undressed, suggesting a possible sexual assault, though this has not been officially confirmed.

A sniffer dog deployed to the scene reportedly lost the scent at the main gate, indicating that the perpetrators may have escaped through that exit.

The area Scenes of Crime Officer documented and processed the scene. Investigators noted stab wounds on the left side of both victims, below the breast.

CCTV footage recovered from the residence shows the intruders scaling the perimeter fence before entering the house.
