The Territorial Police at Nsangi Police Division , yesterday, 3rd December 2025, rescued 47 victims of alleged human trafficking.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Kawala Rachael, the victims, aged between 16 and 30, were reportedly trafficked from several upcountry districts, including Mbarara, Bushenyi, Kabale, Ntungamo, Mityana, and parts of the Busoga region. They were allegedly lured with promises of online job opportunities after attending financial literacy training.
The rescue operation was conducted following intelligence received from one of the victims who had earlier escaped from the camp.
Police identified the company behind the recruitment as Dream Visionaries, operating under Alliance in Motion Global. Efforts to arrest the company’s director are ongoing.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the company targets vulnerable youth, charging a registration fee of 150,000 shillings. Upon arrival at the premises, victims were confined to small rooms and denied communication access, with their phones confiscated for six days.
After the confinement period, each victim would be given a phone to call their family members and demand 1.5 million shillings as so-called “start-up capital.”
The rescued victims are currently receiving support and further assistance at Nsangi Police Division as investigations continue.
