Mr. Bosco Ogwang Edola is set to reconcile the two Lango Cultural Paramount Chiefs early in November 2023. Information confirmed beyond reasonable doubt by our correspondent in Lango sub-region has it that everything is set for Bosco Ogwang Edola on the 5th of November 2023 to finally reconcile the two conflicting cultural heads of Lango Chiefdoms.
Edola is more than ready to create unity in the cultural chapter of Lango Chiefdoms that will be on record as he is going to champion the final reconciliation between the two sides of the Chiefdoms of Lango cultural top leadership. This will now bring on board both the Lango Cultural Institution led by Paramount Chief (Won Nyaci) Yosam Odur Ebii and Tekwaro Lango Paramount Chief (Won Nyaci) Dr. Engineer Moses Odongo Michael Okune to come to a common understanding for the good of unity, development, and the revival of Lango Culture and togetherness.
Speaking to the media in a press briefing held on Wednesday evening at Margarita Palace Hotel, Mr. Bosco Ogwang Edola noted that “we want peace, we don’t want division in Lango, we now want unity,” saying he is a man of peace who will bring both cultural leaders to the same table. He added that Odong Okune’s team has agreed to work together with Odur’s side, provided that the conditions they want are met. However, Edola said they have accepted that during the next election, there will be only one Won Nyaci in Lango and nothing else.
“We have agreed to sit together with both sides because even Odur’s team has also accepted to be in the meeting on the 5th of November 2023, which will be held at Margarita Palace Hotel in Lira City,” confirmed Ogwang Edola. Edola emphasized that “Lango must be one people; there is no need for two Won Nyaci (paramount chiefs).”
He added that he is a man of peace, and he is going to champion the mediation between the two cultural heads amicably. “We want unity now; Odongo Okune came himself; we want unity,” noted Edola.
This newspaper was unable to establish contact with Tekwaro Lango Prime Minister George Ojwang Opota to comment on the move, as his known phone number was unavailable at press time. Ogwang Edola is the director of the Chamber of Commerce Northern and Eastern Region and also a clan leader of a prominent clan in Lango. Above all, he is a prominent businessman liked by many people. His move is admired by many in Lango sub-region as one of the ways forward to bring an end to the long-standing tension witnessed between the two conflicting sides, Yosam Odur Ebii and Engineer Michael Okune. Edola is likely to be the correct answer in the mediation.
