King Saha Reportedly Beaten By Revellers in Ibanda District For Politicizing Music Show

Opposition artist King Saha was violently attacked by partygoers in Ibanda district of western Uganda after he transformed his performance into a political statement.

The event took place at the Kanuzire Food Hub, where he was scheduled to perform during the grand opening ceremony.

Eyewitnesses reported that Saha began singing on stage, but the situation escalated when he merged political themes into his act. During the performance, Saha started promoting the NUP and the message of Bobi Wine, which provoked the anger of the audience.

Ibanda is mainly a stronghold for NRM and President Yoweri Museveni. Authorities arrived quickly and escorted Saha and his team to safety before any serious incidents could occur.

This is not the first time that the Kyeteme singer is turning his concerts into political rallies in favor of the National Unity Platform (NUP).

Saha has continuously decampaigned the ruling government. Often times this has landed him into trouble including some of his shows being stopped by security forces.
