NRM Director for Mobilisation, Cadre Identification, Recruitment and Placement, Hon. Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, has commended party mobilizers across the country for their tireless efforts in ensuring the success of President Yoweri Museveni’s activities and rallies.
According to Hon. Seninde, NRM mobilizers have continued to play a crucial role in strengthening the bond between the President and the people by reaching the grassroots.
“Wherever the President goes, our mobilizers are already on the ground teaching local leaders how to organize effectively and make every rally a resounding success,” she noted.
Seninde, however, acknowledged that the party, like any large family, sometimes faces internal differences, especially after primary elections. She attributed most misunderstandings to competition during internal polls but emphasized that unity remains key.
“We have guided our leaders to be the first to calm tensions, not escalate them. In many areas where we lost elections, if you combine the votes of the NRM flag bearer and the independent, the opposition wouldn’t have won,” she said.
She highlighted women and youth as vital pillars of the NRM, praising them for their consistent support. Women, she said, have been placed at the forefront of several government programs, while the youth continue to energize the movement through their enthusiasm and numbers.
On service delivery, Seninde reminded citizens that the decentralization policy initiated by President Museveni’s government was meant to bring services closer to the people. Each district, she said, receives at least one billion shillings annually for road maintenance, urging local leaders to ensure transparency and effective use of funds.
She also called for calm among Ugandans, saying democracy allows all political voices to coexist.
“The opposition is not our enemy. Our main challenge is internal disunity. Our focus should be on protecting the gains achieved under President Museveni’s leadership,” she emphasized.
Seninde urged Ugandans, especially the youth, to learn the country’s history and appreciate the peace and progress attained. She concluded by calling upon all citizens to turn up in large numbers on January 15th and vote for President Museveni and all NRM flag bearers.
