The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Director for Mobilisation, Dr. Rosemary Nansubuga Sseninde, has praised the people of Karamoja for the huge turnout as they welcomed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to the region.

President Museveni, who resumed his campaign trail in Karamoja, addressed two rallies — first in Kotido and later in Moroto. He was accompanied by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, the NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong, and other senior party officials.

Dr. Sseninde commended the people of Moroto for their strong support towards President Museveni and encouraged Ugandans in areas he has yet to visit to prepare to receive him in similar spirit. She said she is confident that President Museveni will win the upcoming election overwhelmingly, noting that the party’s mobilisation efforts are already bearing fruit.

Speaker Among also thanked residents of Moroto for the love and enthusiasm they showed during the President’s visit. She called upon them to turn up in large numbers and vote when the time for elections comes.

The day ended on a joyful note as Dr. Sseninde, Speaker Among, and Secretary General Todwong joined the excited crowd in a traditional dance celebrating the President’s visit.
