The Tomos Rees family reminisced about how they were searching for the poorest community around 2009 in the city of Mbale, which had the poorest people in need of their intervention. Many of the beneficiaries of their projects include internally displaced persons who fled from the Lord’s Resistance Army and the Karamojongs who settled in Namatala.
The health facility serves the districts of Budaka, Mbale DLG, Mbale City, and Butaleja DLG.
The city council recently constituted a Health Management Committee to assist in the management of the health facility. The committee is a statutory committee provided for under the Health Management Guidelines 2019, and the chairperson is Steven Masiga, leading a team of about 11 members.
