Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi Assumes Ministerial Role

Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi.Dr has expresseed gratitude towards President Museveni for his recent appointment as the Minister of State for Gender, Labour, and Social Development, specifically for Youth and Children Affairs. He extended congratulations to all other newly appointed members of the Cabinet.

According to the new minister the appointment signifies a vote of confidence from various sectors, including his “first unit”, MK Army, the MK Movement that has now morphed into the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Bunyoro region, and the patriotic youth of Uganda. Furthermore, it is seen as a recognition of his contributions to the art industry, including artists and promoters, as well as the business community of Uganda.




Acknowledging General Kainerugaba as his role model and Uganda’s potential future President, Balaam appreciates the trust placed in him to serve as the Deputy in Western Uganda. He expresses eagerness to collaborate with President Museveni in his endeavors for the socio-economic transformation of Uganda, particularly focusing on the youth.




Balaam has pledged to serve Uganda patriotically, promising to listen to the concerns of the youth, engage with them, mobilize their efforts, and empower them to enhance their lives and prospects.




Reactions to Balaam’s appointment vary. While some, like Kenan Olia, express skepticism about his potential effectiveness in the role, others such as Hon. Dr. Mukasa Fred Mbidde have offered sincere congratulations and blessings. Despite differing opinions, messages of congratulations have poured in from various individuals and organizations, from both the opposition and the ruling party, highlighting a mix of support and curiosity about Balaam’s new position.
