Ugandan Chef ‘Mama D’ Sets New Guinness World Record in Cooking Marathon

Ugandan chef Dorcus Mirembe, popularly known as Mama D, made history on December 28 by breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. Mama D surpassed the previous record of 119 hours and 57 minutes held by Irish chef Alan Fisher, and she is determined to extend her feat until December 31.

The record-breaking cookathon took place at Zoe’s Cakes ‘n’ Bites in Kira, Wakiso district, where Mama D showcased her culinary skills with enthusiasm and danced her way into the record books. Inspired by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci, Mama D embraced the challenge not only to establish a new record but also to motivate and inspire young girls.
