Air Commodore Kedar Thaakar, Director of the National Forensic Sciences University (India) – Uganda Campus, has commended President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda for his commitment to strengthening the relationship between Uganda and India.

“We are grateful to the President of Uganda for his positive relationship with the Indian government, which allowed the establishment of the National Forensic Sciences University Uganda campus,” said Air Commodore Thaakar.

He made these comments while officiating the International Yoga Day celebrations at the National Forensic Sciences University (India) Uganda Campus, which is situated at Gaddafi Barracks in the Jinja district.

Air Commodore Thaakar explained that the campus is focused on promoting forensic science education and expertise in forensic techniques and technologies among the police, defence forces, judiciary, prosecutors, security agencies, and related departments. He also mentioned that the university welcomes all students, not just those in security-related fields, and encourages international enrollment.

Brigadier General Peter Gaetano Omola, Commandant of the Uganda Rapid Deployment Capability Centre (URDCC), praised both the Ugandan and Indian governments for their strong relationship, which has contributed to Uganda’s development. He also encouraged people to take part in yoga, highlighting its benefits for physical health, mental well-being, and spiritual growth.
