MUST Issues Security Alert Over Woman Impersonating Pharmacy Student

Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has issued a security alert warning students, staff, and the general public about a woman who has been falsely presenting herself as a student at the institution.

According to a statement released by MUST Security in coordination with the Academic Registrar’s Office, the woman identified as Ms. Jacinther Hamba has been claiming to be a Pharmacy student in the Faculty of Medicine, using the registration number 2024/PHA/005.

In the statement, the university said:

“Verification has established that Ms. Jacinther Hamba is NOT a registered student of MUST.”

Officials revealed that she had reportedly been attending lectures and participating in several student-related activities under the false identity. After investigations, the university confirmed that she is not enrolled in any program at MUST.

The statement further warned the university community to be cautious:

“MUST Community is strongly advised NOT to engage with her in any issues in the capacity of her being a MUST student.”

The university urged all students and staff to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to campus security.
