Equity Bank Shines with Dual Wins in PR and Digital Innovation Across East Africa

KAMPALA, Uganda – Equity Bank Uganda has added two major accolades to its growing list of achievements, reinforcing the Group’s leadership in public relations and digital transformation.

At the 9th PRAU Excellence Awards held on December 4, 2025, at Protea Hotel in Kampala, Equity Bank was recognised as the winner in the Best Crisis Communication Management category. The award highlighted the Bank’s exemplary performance in elevating professional public relations standards in Uganda.

The PRAU Excellence Awards celebrate outstanding PR practitioners and organisations that demonstrate innovation in stakeholder engagement, strategic communication, and crisis management.

“Congratulations to Equity Bank for this remarkable achievement,” the PRAU Awards Committee said, applauding the institution for its strategic communication excellence and ability to navigate complex challenges.

In a separate recognition of its technological leadership, Equity Group Holdings Plc was named winner of the CIO100 Award 2025 in the PlusOne Awards – Banking Sector Category during the CIO100 Symposium in Naivasha, Kenya, on December 3, 2025.

The event, themed “Innovation at Scale: Driving Business Growth Through IT Leadership”, honoured 100 organisations across Africa for outstanding achievements in digital transformation and technology leadership.

Equity’s win underscores the Group’s commitment to deploying advanced technologies, including generative AI, edge computing, and integrated digital platforms. to enhance operational resilience, expand inclusive financial services, and deliver greater value to customers across the continent.
