The United Republic of Tanzania’s tourism city of Zanzibar is set to host the upcoming biennial Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting from March 4 to 8, 2024.

Tanzania, a member of the East African Community, will welcome law ministers and attorney generals from the 56 Commonwealth member countries for discussions on recent legal developments within their jurisdictions.

With a focus on leveraging technology to enhance access to legal services and information, the meeting aims to address the lack of meaningful justice access for two-thirds of the world’s population.

The gathering aims to catalyze strategies for promoting people-centered access to justice, with a particular emphasis on the rights of women and girls, climate change legislation, and advancing universal access to justice.

As preparations unfold in Zanzibar, the Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting anticipates fostering impactful solutions to global legal challenges, fostering a more equitable and inclusive legal landscape worldwide.
