Arrest Made in Luzira Prison Barracks Murder Case: Policewoman Accused

A Female police officer finds herself at the center of a criminal investigation following the alleged murder of her lover at Luzira Prison Barracks in Kampala.

Mercy Alowo, aged 25 and recently trained at Kabalye Police Training School, currently faces detention at Jinja Road Police Station. The allegations against her involve the fatal stabbing of her partner, Lance Carpal Wilfred Okori, a prison warder stationed at Luzira Prison.




According to reports from an alleged eyewitness on February 19, 2024, the couple engaged in a heated altercation that escalated when Okori began discarding some of Alowo’s belongings. This action purportedly incensed Alowo, leading to a violent confrontation that tragically resulted in Okori’s death.




Luke Oweyesigyire, the deputy spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed the ongoing investigation into the incident. Authorities are diligently piecing together the sequence of events surrounding the fatal altercation to establish the facts and determine the appropriate course of action.
