The Uganda Police Force has reported that Crime Intelligence operatives have arrested two suspects believed to be connected with the double murders that occurred in Kasega parish, Kapeke sub-county, Kiboga district on April 4, 2024.

The apprehended individuals are Sulaiman Sentongo, aged 32, residing in Kirinda village, Kasega parish, Kapeke sub-county in Kiboga district, and Namuleme Maureen, aged 41, residing in Kisingiri cell, Namiremebe Bakuli ward, Rubaga division, Kampala.

According to the police, operatives tracked Sulaiman Sentongo, described as a witch doctor, using his phone signal. He was arrested in Kireka, Kampala, on the night of April 5, 2024. Namuleme Maureen, his associate who allegedly provided him with transportation to flee the crime scene on April 4, 2024, was also apprehended.

Currently, the suspects are detained at Kiboga Central Police Station for interrogation. Their arrests bring the total number of individuals in custody to three in connection with the case.

Preliminary investigations suggest that on the night of April 3, 2024, at 10:00 PM, two children, Nantongo Sylvia (aged 5) and Nakasumba Esther (aged 2), were reported missing. Tragically, their torsos were discovered the following day, April 4, 2024, in Kirinda village, Kasega parish, Kapeke sub-county. This led investigators to focus on the residence of witch doctor Sulaiman Sentongo, who is currently under police custody.

As investigations continue, authorities have promised to provide further details on the case.
