Accident Details
Preliminary investigations indicate that a Fuso lorry, registration number UBP 253M, whose driver is yet to be identified, was traveling from Kamdini toward Lira City, carrying a load of beans. It is alleged that the driver attempted to overtake a Datsun pickup, registration number UAG 766L, which was also headed in the same direction, carrying rice and several passengers.
During the overtaking maneuver, another vehicle approached from the opposite direction. In an attempt to avoid a head-on collision, the Fuso driver struck the Datsun pickup from behind and overturned onto it.

SP Okema confirmed that a team comprising the Officer in Charge of Traffic, Kole District, along with other specialized police units, visited the scene for documentation and further investigation.
The deceased include three unidentified male adults and one unidentified female adult. The eight injured victims, who also remain unidentified, were rushed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Both vehicles involved in the crash have been towed to Kole Police Station for mechanical inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles (IOV). The bodies of the deceased have been transported to the mortuary at Lira Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem examinations.
