Gulu city, Uganda – Police in Gulu city are investigating the circumstances under which a Fuso truck vehicle Registration UBF 137L on 18th September 2023 at Cereleno along Gulu-Kampala highway crashed into two occupants on a motorcycle UDW 678V.
The crashed motorcycle occupants died on the spot beyond recognition. The fatal accident was registered at Gulu Central Business Division under vide TAR.298/2023.
According to the review of CCTV footages and information from other witnesses, both Fuso Lorry and the Motorcycle were all heading towards the same direction from Gulu town facing Kampala direction and, when they reached at the junction between Stabex and Sultan petrol stations, the rider of the motorcycle slowed down probably to branch of but was run over by the Fuso Lorry crashing the rider and his passenger beyond recognition killing them instantly.
ASP David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa West river region police spokesperson while interacting with journalists confirms the incident saying traffic police from Gulu Central Police Station visited the scene and evacuated the two dead bodies to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
He adds that both the motor vehicle and motorcycle are at CPS Gulu police parking yard pending IOV inspection and the cause of the accident is yet to be identified.
