Hoima City Police Investigate Robbery of Indian Nationals

The spokesperson for the Albertine Police Region, Julius Hakiiza, stated that they have Asaba in custody but refused to provide additional details, citing concerns about jeopardizing the ongoing investigation.

Police in Hoima City are hunting for two unknown assailants who invaded the home of Indian nationals and stole 50 million shillings, smartphones, and other valuables.

The victims have been identified as Adri Eddy and Vinod Kumar, both Indian nationals and residents of Kiryatete East Cell in Hoima East Division.




Addressing journalists on Monday, Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, confirmed that the robbery took place on Sunday between 1:00 AM and 2:25 AM in Kiryatete East Cell, Hoima City.




The victims, Adri Eddy and Vinod Kumar, lost smartphones, cash worth 50 million shillings, and other valuable items during the attack.




Hakiza explained that the robbery occurred between 1:00 AM and 2:25 AM on Sunday night. The unknown assailants, suspected to be armed, left a gun with four rounds of ammunition at the scene.

Hakiza also mentioned that one John Okello, a security guard attached to Radar Tech Security Company, was arrested to aid in the investigations, which have since begun.
