Police in Kawempe are currently investigating a suspected murder by stabbing that occurred at Lufura Zone Bwaise in Kawempe Division. The victim, Nakagwa Easther, a 25-year-old sex worker and resident of Lufura zone, was found dead at Okatho Inn Guest House in Bwaise.

According to reports, on December 30, 2023, at approximately 8:00 am, an employee of Okatho Inn Guest House discovered suspected blood under the door of room 4 while conducting routine inspections. The employee promptly alerted the police, leading to a thorough examination of the scene.

Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango stated that a knife with suspected bloodstains, beer, a box of condoms, a used condom, and a bottle of water were among the items recovered from the room. These exhibits, along with the suspected bloodstains, will undergo analysis at the forensics laboratory.

The investigation revealed that the victim had rented the room on October 27, 2023, for her sex work. Her lifeless body was discovered partially under the bed in a pool of blood, wearing a white patra and a red blouse soaked in blood. The incident is believed to have occurred on the floor, as no signs of blood were found on the bed.

In connection with the case, seven suspects, including the manager and workers of the guest house, were apprehended to assist in the ongoing investigations. They are currently held at Kawempe Police Station. The body of the deceased has been taken to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem.
