Luweero Police Launch Search for Suspect in Security Guard Shooting

Police in Luwero district are searching for a security guard affiliated with Ryayo Security Group. The guard, identified as Godwin Kwemoi, is accused of shooting his colleague, Anthony Jarindya, leading to the latter’s death. The incident took place at Najjembe Developers Micro Finance Ltd in Binyonyi, Luwero, on Saturday, December 16, around 11:00 pm.

Savannah Police region spokesperson Sam Twiineamazima confirmed that Anthony Jarindya, 30, from Galuwero village, Luwero town council, lost his life in the shooting. Kwemoi reportedly fled the scene after the incident, abandoning his rifle.




From the investigation, authorities recovered two guns, eight live ammunitions, one cartridge, and a cloth-wrapped knife at the scene. The deceased’s body was transported to City Mortuary in Mulago for a postmortem examination.




As of the latest update, the police have gathered statements from witnesses and obtained blood samples for further analysis. The hunt for Godwin Kwemoi, the suspect, is ongoing.
