Police have apprehended a criminal gang that has been causing fear in Tororo and nearby Kenya in a joint effort with other security agencies. The operation, conducted on Tuesday night, focused on bars, video halls, and suspected hideouts of the gang.

During the operation, various tools believed to be used in criminal activities were seized along with items belonging to victims. The effort aimed to disrupt the gang’s activities and recover stolen goods.

According to Julius Caesar Tusingwire, the Police commander for the Bukedi South region, the operation was prompted by a rise in crimes targeting the bodaboda industry. Several bodaboda riders were killed, and others injured, with numerous motorcycles stolen.

During the operation, 12 motorcycles with Ugandan plates replaced by Kenyan ones were recovered, along with additional items such as knives, pangas, and chemical substances thought to be used in attacks.
