Kasese, Uganda – Police in Kasese are holding a pastor from Holy Spirit Church–Kampala for allegedly defiling his 14-year-old biological daughter.
According to SP Nelson Tumusiime, the Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson, the suspect has been identified as Hosia Bikoba, 42, a resident of Mumbuzi Cell in Kasese Municipality. He is accused of committing the act in one of the lodges in Kasese Town.
SP Tumusiime stated that the suspect is a pastor and leads a church known as Holy Spirit Church based in Nansana, Kampala.
Speaking during a weekly press briefing at the Police Headquarters, SP Tumusiime said the case file has been forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.
“Investigations are ongoing, and we have submitted the file for legal guidance,” said SP Tumusiime.
In a related development, police are also holding two other suspects on charges of defilement:
- David Athuhirwe, 18, a resident of Ibanda–Kyanya Town Council, and
- George Rwabojo, 22, whose place of residence is yet to be confirmed.
SP Tumusiime urged parents to take their responsibilities seriously and closely monitor the whereabouts and activities of their children.
“Parents must be vigilant and ensure the safety of their children. Let us not leave them vulnerable,” he emphasized.
