OBONGI, Uganda –  The Obongi Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, has ordered the arrest of a primary school teacher who was allegedly found having sex with a Primary Seven pupil in Palorinya sub-county.

The RDC’s order follows a complaint from the victim’s father, who reported that the teacher was found in the act with his daughter at night.

The RDC has ordered the arrest of the teacher and directed the police to investigate the matter. A concerned parent told our news desk that the teacher was detained by the police at the time of writing this report.

Avayo Yoi, a P7 classroom teacher at Yenga Primary School in Palorinya sub-county, was arrested on the RDC’s order and is currently in police custody. He will be arraigned in court to answer charges of defilement of a minor.

According to the girl’s father (name withheld), the teacher had molested the girl before the P7 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) and again after she sat for the exams in a nearby location adjacent to the school.

It’s worth noting that this is allegedly the third time the same teacher has had sexual intercourse with the girl.

The RDC warned that anyone found defiling a minor would be dealt with legally. He emphasized that the teacher must be fully investigated and brought before the court for legal action.
