MBARARA, Uganda — Police in Mbarara District intercepted and arrested three suspected cattle thieves on Thursday morning in Bwizibwera Town while transporting three cattle believed to have been stolen from a farm in Ibanda District.
The suspects, identified as Herbert Mwebaze, 32, a resident of Bisheshe Division in Ibanda District; Ibrahim Mutebi from Nyamityoobora Ward in Mbarara City; and Sekilanda, were found moving the animals in a white Toyota Canter with registration number UBH 094W.

In a related operation, officers also intercepted a motorcycle, registration number UEL 128A, carrying a large polythene bag containing four goat carcasses. However, the two individuals transporting the goats fled before they could be arrested.
Police in Mbarara said investigations are ongoing to track the escaped suspects and recover any additional stolen livestock.
Authorities continue to urge residents to report cases of livestock theft promptly to prevent such criminal activities.
