Kakumiro District, Uganda –– Police in the Albertine Region have launched a manhunt for additional suspects after arresting two men in connection with the brutal murder of a 38-year-old woman in Kakumiro District.
The deceased has been identified as Namulindwa Victoria, a resident of Rwensera B Cell. Her home was violently attacked on February 27, 2026, leaving her dead and several family members seriously injured.
According to police reports, the two suspects currently in custody are Jordan Kibuka (25) and Semata, also known as Kidewalime (23). The suspects allegedly broke into Namulindwa’s home armed with heavy sticks and attacked the occupants.
During the attack, three of Namulindwa’s children and their domestic worker sustained serious injuries. The victims were rushed to Mubende Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.
Police said that while the children and the domestic worker are now in stable condition and expected to recover, Namulindwa succumbed to the severe injuries she sustained during the assault.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects may have been targeting homes across Kakumiro District with the intention of committing robberies. Authorities believe the attack could have been premeditated and are also investigating whether the suspects were involved in similar attacks in neighbouring communities.
Police confirmed that the two suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
“The two suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of their criminal activities. We are committed to ensuring that the perpetrators face justice,” police said in a statement.
Authorities have urged members of the public to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and cooperate with security agencies in efforts to improve safety within communities.
